Emma's Findings
My Uncle wore shoes that had pieces of metal put into the leather by the toes and heels to make your shoes last longer. They were called segs. Every town had at least one cobbler or shoemaker. When he was in his teen years they had a sort of shirt called a dry shirt they were generally white. Cotton and wool mixes were used on clothes because man made fibres were only just coming into being. The only type of hat my uncle ever wore was dark green and navy blue school cap. Instead of having a mall they had all different shops for all different things. More about shoes i found out that nothing was popular then saddle shoes. They were black and white and looked like a sneaker. Another fashion was the ballet slipper. It was the popular choice and was often worn with cutie white socks. By Emma.s
